At the beginning of the 21st Century monsters still roam the remote, and sometimes not so remote, corners of our planet. It is our job to search for them. The Centre for Fortean Zoology [CFZ] is - we believe - the largest professional, scientific and full-time organisation in the world dedicated to cryptozoology - the study of unknown animals. Since 1992 the CFZ has carried out an unparalleled programme of research and investigation all over the world. Since 2009 we have been running the increasingly popular CFZ Blog Network, and although there has been an American branch of the CFZ for over ten years now, it is only now that it has a dedicated blog.

CREATURE OF TERMON

Ah, back to my native country, where the shamrocks are spouting even as I speak.  This deals with a very strange creature.  A woman, entering her barn in the vicinity of Termon, encountered this beastie.  She described it as being dark, with a long nose, four humps and a tail.  It has a juvenile creature with it.  Earlier, in the same area, a dark creature was reported blocking the road in 2005.  It had a large head and plunged through a roadside fence.

This animal sounds rather like an elephant, but I can assure the reader that elephants do not wander the Irish wilderness.  However, what it might have been was a sea-elephant or elephant seal.  I cannot guess what else it might be.
