At the beginning of the 21st Century monsters still roam the remote, and sometimes not so remote, corners of our planet. It is our job to search for them. The Centre for Fortean Zoology [CFZ] is - we believe - the largest professional, scientific and full-time organisation in the world dedicated to cryptozoology - the study of unknown animals. Since 1992 the CFZ has carried out an unparalleled programme of research and investigation all over the world. Since 2009 we have been running the increasingly popular CFZ Blog Network, and although there has been an American branch of the CFZ for over ten years now, it is only now that it has a dedicated blog.

AT A BAR IN BLUFFTON......

Ever been to Bluffton (Ohio)?  I haven't, but, if you were in Luke's Bar and Grill last Friday, you'd have seen an interesting sight.  A deer charged in.  It was clearly reduced to a state of panic by its strange surroundings, turning over tables and nearly overbalancing itself.  It fled through the back door.

I'm sure I can find some kind of salutary lesson in all this.  Ah, yes.  The deer lived in a world full of bars, but had no idea such places existed and, discovering such an unfamiliar setting, was thrown into a frenzy.  But what, I ask you, is there in the world that we don't know about?
